SCHOOL DAYS DIARIES - DAY 1

3D scans, virtual reality and innovation

Level Up School Days has started today its very first edition with a great schedule of panels, talks and workshops.

Young students at Galileo Galilei and Carlo Urbani Institutes of Technology in Rome in their classrooms and high school students online will watch talks and panels through a dedicated platform that uses an advanced streaming technology that will give them the chance to acquire fundamentals of 3d game art, programming and game design for video games, directly from experts and alumni of AIV Italian Video Games Academy, creator and organiser of the Level Up School Days format.

 

The main feature of the School Days are the institutional panels, that in this opening day will cover interconnected learning and new technologies for innovation.

After the opening by Elisabetta Giustini, President of Polo Tecnico Professionale Galileo, the panel was introduced by Vito Crimi, Domestic Affairs Vice Minister (remotely).
Among the guest speakers, Ian Carnelli, GSP Manager, ESA, Francesco Rutelli, President, ANICA (remotely), Nicola Borrelli, Executive Director of General management FIlm and Audio Visual Media, Mibact, Col. After lunch there was the launch of the game jam “Students for Future”, that will involve students from Galileo Galilei and Carlo Urbani institutes working for three days on the development of a game.

Among workshops and talks, Digital Illustration for Concept artists, Music for video games, Level Design, photogrammetry and 3d scans, virtual reality and game feel.

Level Up School Days Schedule will also have a dedicated track for pitches of the best projects developed by AIV students.

A special area onsite is for Virtual Reality experience and simulators under the guidance of AIV teachers and students.

School Days first edition has an area for indie developers, who will show their latest games to visitors and institutional guests.

Technology, innovation, interactivity and interconnection are the key words of this very first edition of Level Up school Days.
