Patrick Gladys

Senior Environment Artist @ Cloud Imperium Games

His career began at Crytek where he contributed to projects like Crysis 3, Ryse: Son of Rome and others.


In 2015 he joined DICE in Stockholm, Sweden to work on the visually acclaimed Star Wars: Battlefront.

After completing Battlefront 2 he moved back to Germany for the ambitious Star Citizen at Cloud Imperium Games - building procedural content like planets, caves and materials.

Patrick specializes in natural environments including foliage and shares his knowledge on various platforms like 80.lvl or 3D Artist Magazine.

RnD & Procedural Tools of Star Citizen

The presentation will provide insight into various procedural tools and technology that is being used on Star Citizen to generate anything from space itself, asteroid fields, planets, moons, over landscapes all the way down to the smallest elements like individual grass patches.

We will talk about Star Citizen in general, why it is exciting to work on and what some of the unique challenges are. How to tackle a RnD process by using a feature that is currently in development will be discussed as well.

Tips and actual production material will be shared with the audience.

This talk is aimed at students and experienced artists who are interested in taking a look how to properly construct a greater workflow while managing goals and time investment
