Philomena Schwab is a game designer and community manager from Zurich, Switzerland.


She wrote her master thesis about “Community Building for Indie Developers” and went on to co-found the indie game studio Stray Fawn in 2016. The studio’s main focus is the development of procedurally generated simulation games. In 2017 Philomena has been named a 30 under 30 in Technology by Forbes. As the vice president of the Swiss Game Developers association, Philomena helps her local game industry grow.

Building a community around your game in development is not only beneficial for financial success, but provides you with constant feedback and can serve as a motivator to push through the tough times of development.

Stray Fawn Studio talks about experiences gained from their games ‘Niche - a genetics survival gam' and ‘Nimbatus: The Space Drone Constructor’ and offers a step by step guide on how to start, maintain and activate a community around your game.

Topics include exhibiting your game, crowdfunding, social media, community hubs, cross-promotion, and Steam Early Access.

This talk is accessible for all experience levels, from student to professional.
