JAREK KOLAR

Now Development Director at Bohemia Interactive, Jarek worked also at Hangar 13 and 2K Czech, where he developed gameplay and level design for Mafia III.

 

Even though he already was working in the industry since 1992, he got both Bachelors and Masters degree in Theory of Interactive Media at Faculty of Arts in Brno, specializing himself in new media and their influence on video games.

Project Planning: Predicting deadlines with creative teams

How often you are on the start of the development with just an idea, concept or simple prototype wondering about production questions: How much time will it take to make the full game? How many risks and unknowns does it involve? Getting the right answers on innovative projects produced by creative teams is more like fortunetelling, but there are some techniques that help you ground your project in reality and predict your deadlines. Practical talk with techniques explained on the examples from Vietcong, Mafia and Argo games.
